Crawling to Walking/Utah trip/11 months old!/Easter

First we have some pictures from around the house. Denver has been a little explorer who wants to see and try everything new.

Yogurt. Remember to lick the lid!

Reading a book.

Playing guitar with Dad. He has a pick in his hand, I'm pretty sure that was right before I snatched it from him as he was about to stuff it in his mouth!

Book and Mom's water. Put them together and he's learning to multi-task!

I made one of our drawers in the kitchen be strictly Denver appropriate activities so he can be in the kitchen with me and not be attempting to get in the trash the whole time!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Playing at the park! The light this night was so beautiful, he just looks like such a pretty baby.

Not sure how he feels about the grass.

I towel dried his hair one night and this is what happened. I think it's about time for a haircut!

First Spaghetti night

He always crosses his ankles while he eats. Even when he was tiny, I would be nursing him and his little ankles would be crossed.

He wouldn't hold still long enough for a non-blurry picture, but I think he enjoyed himself.

Box tunnel! Who needs toys when you have boxes and bubble wrap!

I need to eat every last drop!

Utah Trip

Erik had to go to a conference in Louisiana over spring break, so Denver and I flew to Utah for some fun at Grandma's!

Snuggling with my sister Dani. He never snuggles like this! I guess it was a hard morning of traveling!

After lunch at Cafe Rio we headed over to see Grandma and Pa Nielson in Pleasant Grove. It was a beautiful day!

Sorry about the weird light from the window. Playing with Grandma.

Back home in Logan, rub a dub dub 3 kids in the tub!

Cousin lunch time! These two are almost exactly a year apart (just a couple of weeks difference) They liked eating and watching cartoons and playing together. Chasing Cache around really made him start walking while we were there.

Two boys on Grandpa's lap.

After nap snuggles with his Great Grandma (my mom's mom)

Heading back on the airplane. Luckily on the way home we had an extra seat blocked out for him so we had a lot more room to wiggle and play.

After we touched back down in Oregon.

This little love slept for half of the flight home for me.

Back at home with Dad (who missed his baby terribly) we splurged on the merry go round at the mall which was so worth it for these pictures! He had a blast!

First Easter Basket. Last year we bought him a toy dump truck hoping it would be incentive for him to come into this world a little early, but the bribe did not work, so this is his official first Easter.

11 months old! I don't know how it happened, I think it was when I put him in shorts and a t-shirt with his hair all done up that he now looks like a kid, not just a baby. So big!

Pooh bear is always a good smile incentive.

Easter Dinner

Apparently we wore him out on his first Easter. During prayers he snuggled up on my belly and fell asleep.

Happy boy

First of March goings on and our 10 month old!

Denver is just a funny little boy. I know I always talk about how much we adore him, but seriously, he's adorable! He grows in body and personality every day and he is just a joy to be around. He has the sweetest little tender heart. I can tell he's going to be a really empathetic person, he always looks concerned when other kids cry or seem upset, and he always seems to know when I need that extra set of snuggles.

I was trying to get a picture of his hair the other day. When he was playing with Dad upside down his hair was sticking to the blanket due to static and it looked so long. I'm trying to decide when to give him his first haircut. It's still so short on the sides though, so he's probably got some time.

Playing with Dad's tools. Rubber mallet anyone?

The sun has really shone through the last little bit, and Erik decided to teach Denver his grilling skills.

I went in to get Denver after his nap so we could go to story time and I realized he was 10 months old that day. I just had to take a picture of my tiny sleeping man while he is still tiny. He is just growing so fast. (Que big fat mom tears)

Sliding at the park. He would have done this all day if we would have been willing to lift him up and down the slide. He thinks that the slide is the greatest.

Beautiful sunny day.

10 month pictures! (More big juicy mom tears)

I'm Denver, and I just turned 10 months old. I love to crawl everywhere and explore everything! I like to babble and say things like "dada" "baba" sometimes "papa" and lots of raspberries in between those noises. I've also recently discovered "eee" and do long strings of "ah ah ah ah" when I have a particularly long story to tell. My favorite toy is anything I am not supposed to play with. (Cords, any electronic device, cupboards, shoes, blinds in the windows, etc.) My favorite newly discovered foods are applesauce with blueberries, mango, turkey burger, cheerios, graham crackers and my absolute favorite, YOGURT! If mom sneaks a bite of it while she's feeding me I make a very loud unhappy noise at her. I still can't manage to sleep through the night, but I usually only bug mom once so I'm doing better. I am really close to walking, but crawling is so much faster that I usually do that instead.

One morning as Denver was playing I noticed his jammies were riding up on the sleeves, so I check the tag and they are 6-9 month jammies. Poor kid! I think it's time to retire these ones!

One of his favorite toys.

Oh look, more 10 month pictures. :)

Erik made Denver a new pair of mocassins and we think they're pretty cute.

Our little pirate at the coast. This was about 2:30 in the afternoon and those sleepy eyes tell all.

On a hike up Chip Ross this past Sunday, the poor kid didn't know how to open his eyes with all of that sunshine!

9 month pictures (Even though he's almost 10 months...)

I was planning on posting these weeks ago and then our family got the most miserable sickness this month! Denver got it first, he had a no fun fever, cough, runny nose, up all night sickness and it lasted for 9 days! Then Erik and I got it about halfway through his sickness and mine turned into a full blown sinus infection which I still feel like I'm getting over. I had some pretty terrible sinus headaches and I still can feel sinus pressure that I am sure is only complicated by the fact that allergy season is upon us! We are finally feeling better though, and so I knew I just had to post his 9 month pictures. (10 month pictures to come in a week or so!)

Sweet looking baby.

Getting into mischief and making pictures almost impossible!

Alphalfa

I think this one is my favorite.

And this one...

Trying out his new outfit Aunt Jessie got him for Christmas. Looking sharp!

On our way out for fun! I like having my little sidekick wherever I go.

On Valentines day, we were at the mall and we let Denver play in the play area with the other kids for the first time and he loved it!

On a walk. The weather has turned beautiful here and we had to soak in the sun while we have it!

Happy kid laughing at his own reflection.

I have slain the dragon! (Slain?,..Slayed?)

Spring has sprung! (I know it's only February, but let me get my hopes up just a little...)

Looking outside. What is that bright thing out there mom? That thing you call sunshine?

This sweet thing crawled up and took a nap on me the other day. I'm in love!

Rocking Daddy's beanie while Mom cleaned his room this morning.
