Happy Halfway point! 20 weeks down 20 to go!

Today is our official "hump day" with baby Cram! It's really weird to think how so much has happened but it feels like it has flown by! (we'll see if the second half is the same.) With the holidays we've just had so much going on I couldn't believe when I got thinking about it and we were at 20 weeks! I think I'm stuck back on week 15 for some reason. This is me at work today.

He's pretty cute I must say. He's getting more and more wiggly in there. As I sit here he is actually rolling around probably wondering where his dinner is. Erik had to proctor an exam tonight so we currently have lasagna in the oven but we aren't going to eat until Erik gets home around 7:30 or 8 so this is the snack I currently have sitting next to me...the boy likes cheese!

We got an early Christmas present from our landlord a few days ago. A new oven! I'm so glad our old one was from maybe the 70's almond colored and everything. The only problem is it makes the other appliances in our house look dingy. (just look at that dishwasher to the right of it.)

I decided to get a bit crafty this week and made my nativity I've been meaning to put together for a whole year. I went to Home Depot to find wood to put it on and this nice guy sat there with me and helped me try to figure out just how big of a board I would need and he told me what wood to use that would absorb the paint the best. I thought it was so sweet of him most of those home depot guys probably hate us pinterest people who have no idea what we're looking for, but the craft website says I need this specific item from home depot. He was very patient anyway and I was impressed with him and I got the exact thing I needed. I think it turned out pretty cute!

This is what we woke up to on Friday morning. Yikes! Where do we live again? I thought we left Utah? Apparently Utah decided to come to us this snow has stuck around since then and the roads are still covered in snow and ice. (5 days later) It got SO cold here I can't wait for it to warm back up again to regular Oregon weather, however the snow was a nice little break from the grey clouds.
My artsy photo I took of our cute lights outside with snow on them. I do like snow for the holidays I will admit that.

My other snowy day project was to make a home made wreath. Erik went and collected pine branches and berries for me to make it with. I love having the pine smell in the house without it being the whole tree that you have to water and all that. Our pre-lit tree is just too nice and easy to set up.

I guess that's it for now. Happy Holidays everyone! We have a lot to be grateful for this year and we love all our friends and family that pray for us and think about us we couldn't be happier!

Lots of fun updates!

It's been awhile! So after our computer decided to die and not wake back up we started researching replacements, meanwhile a couple of days go by and our computer decides to be happy and fix itself. YAY! So now we don't have to buy a new one (for now) and we are going to treat this one extra nice to keep it from falling apart.
     In other news...

BABY! And it's a BOY! Isn't he cute?! Ok, all mom's say that about their little glowing silhouette on the monitor but mine is ultra cute I can tell.

This picture is super blurry but it's one of my favorites because he is a flexible little acrobat. If you look close you can see his head profile on the right and if you follow his little body to the left and up and around you can see his feet hanging out right above his face. Who knew the kid could fold over in half? We also got to watch him suck his little thumb during the ultrasound it was pretty adorable.

This was last week sometime. Baby's just working on getting bigger and bigger.

Erik and I took a couple days off this weekend to be together and take a little Thanksgiving break so where better to go then out to the ocean? It was a really nice day we got some sun shining through and it wasn't windy at all.

Erik's favorite stocking. It has a kitty on it, what could be better?

Ok, he liked this one better. Little cute blue stocking for our cute little boy! I'm so tempted to put stuff in it for him this year, but pretty sure it's a little silly to have me give it to him and open it for him...

Our cute Christmas tree! I'm loving the decorating this year we actually have presents under our tree this year because we aren't going home this Christmas. It feels so festive! That is until I tried to plug in the tree the other day and the plug gave a huge spark and scorched the plug and the wall. Apparently we are too festive for our electricity output...

We went to visit some family up in Hillsboro for Thanksgiving this year and we brought an appetizer with us of cheese fondu with veggies and bread to dip in it. SO yummy...however just as I finish cutting up the veggies and making this cute tray to take with us I realize it is a Christmas tray with gingerbread and gumdrops on it and we were going to a Thanksgiving party. I think I jumped the gun a bit hopefully no one noticed. haha

Last week I had an awful dream where I wanted to eat a Cafe Rio salad and they were bringing a catering truck to Oregon and I was so excited to get to eat it! However, when I got my little self up to the place to order I asked for my salad, and I get told "We're only making burritos." I was SO upset. So I woke up the next morning, walked my little self over to the grocery store and bought what I needed to make my own Cafe Rio salad that night. I was not disappointed. SO delicious!

Erik took this picture of me on Sunday just shy of 19 weeks! Sorry I look so pale! Little baby is making his appearance and becoming more and more visible.

this could be interesting

So yesterday our computer died. Like won't turn on at all died so I'm attempting to write a small update on my phone.  hey look! It will let me add photos! This might actually work! So this week has been about cleaning out our second bedroom to make room for nursery things. Keep in mind it doesn't always look like this just when I pull everything out of the closet to go through but needless to say there was a lot to do.

Before and after. And it looks even better than this now. All the stuff on the  right is the beginning off baby stuff.and there is more not pictured but all that stuff on the left is now gone.
want to finish that rocking chair but I don't know how I want it done hopefully with finding out the gender next week it will point me in the right direction of what we want our nursery to look like.
17 weeks! Here we are closing in on the halfway point. I feel like it's going by so fast and is only going to go faster with the holidays coming up. It's fun getting to feel little kicks and wiggles from baby. There I got a little kick just now! I can't wait until it's strong enough for Erik to feel he gets a little jealous that only I get to feel it. I guess it's one of the perks of the job! We love this little baby already it always wiggles and dances to the music in the car or when I play the piano at church.  hopefully we get a new computer soon so in the future these posts aren't so oddly formatted.

It's November already?

Happy Halloween from me and Erik! Mom sent us a picture of her all decked out for Halloween that morning so we had to send one back with our cute smiling faces right? (And our dirty dishes in the background that everyone is going to ignore)

Our church did a Chili cook off for Halloween along with a trunk or treat and activities for the kids. Erik and Matt decided that they really wanted to collaborate on a chili together, which is an awesome idea because they are both incredible cooks. They also decided to make it a bit...well, different...and Manly. So they decided that instead of the traditional beef or chicken chili, they were going to go a little more exotic and make Erik and Matt's Best Friend "Hoppin'" Ka-Bar Chili complete with fresh rabbit meat. They prepared everything with their Ka-Bar knives (again, the whole manly thing) and the two of their minds put together and created an awesome chili everyone was raving about. Their awesome sign was courtesy of me and my major crafting skills.

The bottom of the crockpot scraped out. A few minutes after this someone found a spatula and really cleaned the entire crockpot out. This was no small amount of chili mind you, it was a big crockpot full with an entire rabbit in there.

So everyone voted they had about 20 pots of chili there. There were different categories for prizes like the spiciest chili and things like that, but when they got to the best in show award Erik and Matt's Ka-Bar chili came out on top! Their reaction was priceless they were so excited I'm so proud of them.

Erik and Matt showing off their manliness and their golden ladle trophy they were awarded for best chili! It was such a fun night!

This week's pregnancy craving. I really wanted one fresh from the mall or something like that but since Corvallis doesn't have one we had to make do with what we could find at the grocery store but these were satisfactory enough for baby Cram.
Take  your baby bump to work day. I feel like my stomach is turning into a little basketball right in front of my stomach. I'm down to one pair of pants that fits me normally and even when I wore them the other day they were a bit on the snug side. Most of my shirts still work except for ones that were already on the little shorter or tighter side. So far so good we are just a bit over 15 weeks now and we get to go find out the gender the day before Thanksgiving just 3 weeks from today! We are so excited! We are now taking predictions on if it's a boy or a girl. Any thoughts?

This is Halloween, This is Halloween....

Erik and me and our little nugget went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. It was lots of fun I was smiling the whole time I don't know why it just hit the spot for a fun fall activity. We first went to Davis Family Farms here in Corvallis they had donuts and hot chocolate and a hay ride out to their pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. HOWEVER, their pumpkins were .25 cents a pound which I think is a bit much so we instead rode the little hayride out to the patch and rode it right back in while we munched on our donuts but it was lots of fun.

The trailer was pulled by this big huge tractor. The driver would let kids come up and help him drive the tractor around which I thought was pretty cute the kids were loving it.

This was the pumpkin patch we ended up going to. It was awesome it's a place called Twedt's off of highway 20. We have come here a few times for produce at different times of the summer they have very good products and at a very reasonable price. This u-pick patch was only .10 cents a pound so I think we did WAY better and we had the pick of the patch and got all of these pumpkins and some gourds for 5 bucks.

Us chilling at the pumpkin patch. Can I just say how much I love this man? He is my favorite, he takes such good care of us and our little family.

Erik carving his K-Bar contest pumpkin. This knife brand company K-Bar was having a pumpkin carving contest on Facebook that they had people carve pumpkins with their K-Bar knives and then post them and the best one wins a free K-Bar knife so Erik went all out with his zombie pumpkin. Hopefully they will announce the winner tomorrow or Friday keeping our fingers crossed that he wins!

This is the knife that I He-manned apart while trying to carve my pumpkin. Oops! Who knew pregnancy would give me all of this extra strength to break knives in half? haha

Erik's zombie pumpkin complete. It is pretty gruesome I must say, I hope he wins!

All of our pumpkins! I thought mine needed to be a bit more happy to contrast Erik's scary pumpkin. I think we did pretty good.

Our mason jar pumpkins all lit up. I like them I think they turned out pretty cute.

Delicious pumpkin seeds! This is one of my favorite Halloween treats! Yum Yum Yum!

I came home the other night and this tree was on fire it was so bright with the evening sun coming down on it it was beautiful I wish the picture could give it justice. We have had such beautiful colors here fall is wonderful. One thing I like about Oregon is that these colors stick around for weeks in Utah I swear there was like a week where they would be really pretty and then it would freeze and all the leaves would fall. These bright beautiful colors stick around all of October and then some.

Oh yeah one last thing. Happy 14 weeks! I think I'm finally getting a noticeable belly. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow and hopefully they will talk to us about setting up our appointment for our anatomy ultrasound to find out the gender in 6 weeks. We can't wait!

Erik and Britton + One

That's right! Erik and I are adding to our little family. This is our little buddy at only 7 weeks that was the last time they gave us an ultrasound and we don't get another one until 20 weeks when we find out if it's a boy or a girl in early December. We are 13 weeks along now and heading into our second trimester! Hallelujah! We are so excited and blessed. I can't believe that we are being trusted with this little spirit God is sending us and can't wait to meet them in April!

The day I turned 11 weeks was one of my sickest days ever. I am so grateful for my job because luckily it was a slow day at work and I was actually able to get a pedicure. It made me feel so much better nothing feels better than just relaxing when you feel so crummy. I have been very lucky though I haven't been as sick as I could have been. I have still been able to work my normal amount and have been blessed with not throwing up which was a huge bonus! It also helped me keep it a secret at work for awhile until I was ready without anyone getting suspicious.

This was me last week sometime. Around 11 weeks when I felt so sick that hard lump in my belly moved up a bit to right below my belly button and it's making my belly stick out a bit more. I feel really strange I'm at that weird stage where if people don't know I'm pregnant they would just think I've gained a few pounds. Only one pair of my pants still fit me comfortably, so Erik took me maternity pants shopping the other day and I tell you I don't know why everyone doesn't wear them they are so comfortable! Way better than squishing into my too tight pants every day!

A couple of nights ago this is the pregnancy craving that attacked. Bacon and Chocolate cereal. I haven't had that many craving but this was definitely one of them. A couple of days before we found out I was pregnant I downed a half a bottle of pickles all by myself. Also pizza ALWAYS sounds good. A couple of times we've made late night runs to little caesars down the road because that was what I needed. Erik is so good at taking care of me and my pregnancy crazies.

We are very excited about our little one I can't wait until we find out if it's a boy or a girl so I can start shopping! I think they do that on purpose so we only have 20 weeks to do all of the shopping instead of the full 40 weeks and don't go overboard. Haha.

Ok Fall I take it back. I'm not loving you right now.

I woke up this morning and looked at the temperature on my phone. 39 degrees. Where do I live again? Utah? Nope. Oregon. Are you serious? That is dead of winter temperatures here why are we getting them at the beginning of October? I don't think that this bodes well for the near future.
Now that rant is over, I am enjoying the stay inside where it's warm thing. We pressed apple cider with our friends about a week ago that was delicious! We just sat inside with our steaming mugs and listened to the rain fall outside.
I got a flyer in the mail about a week ago telling me that one of our local craft shops was closing and having a major clearance on their craft supplies. So I got thinking that I would go and check it out the store was opening at 9:30 the next day and I thought I could use some supplies. So a little after ten I decide to meander over there and check it out and this is what I see wrapped around the parking lot and the store had already been open for 45 minutes! I'm pretty sure there were more people here than had shopped in the store in the last month (hence the reason for it closing) so I just turned my little self around and went back home. 'Ain't nobody got time for that...
On Sunday we had a huge rain storm and about 6:00 at night we look up and our ceiling is dripping and sagging. So we put a bucket under it to catch the drips and about an hour later our power goes out. So then we have a drippy ceiling AND no power. So we decided to just leave our house and go to our friend's the  Butler's to sit in front of their fireplace and stay warm and chat so it turned out to be a really nice night.
So I may or may not have colored my hair pretty purple...This was pretty frightening when I looked in the mirror with hot pink color all over my head...
At least it didn't turn out hot pink. It's pretty fun I like it. Definitely ready for fall!
We finally pulled out our Halloween decorations yesterday and decided to watch Hocus Pocus while we put them up. I can't believe how old this movie is it's still such a good one.
I didn't realize how few decorations we have. I think we need to go shopping some more we definitely need some cobwebs to go with our spider and to make that candle look creepier. We also have purple lights over our window that could use some creepy cobwebs.
This was my Halloween decorating project for this year. Got to love Pinterest. I made them out of mason jars and we are going to put little tea lights in them so that they glow all cute like little jack-o-lanterns. We like them. :)

That's all for now folks!
