Vacation and more nursery progress

This last weekend we got to spend out at the coast. Our friends own a beach house out there and they very generously let us borrow it for the weekend. It was so nice to get away for a bit even though it rained most of the time we had a blast!

This was the windiest and rainiest day I have see since living in Oregon. The coast sure knows how to put on a storm! The waves were crashing really far back and you could watch the wind blow the sea spray off the tops of the white caps.

Much more calm, sunny day at the beach although it was still pretty chilly it's just nice to hear the ocean sounds and relax.

New crib for our little guy! We realized when we got out to our car that the box would not fit so we unwrapped it there and had to load it piece by piece into the car. It eventually made it in though! I also made a bumper guard to put on top of the rail to tie it in with the rest of the nursery and to keep little teeth from chewing on the wood!

Our friend Angie found that cute helm for us to put in our nursery and then Erik and I found the anchor and starfish to go with it on our big empty wall.

Out at the coast we found this cute fishing net that Erik hung up for stuffed animals to hang in up out of the way. I think it turned out super cute!

Sorry the lighting is really poor but we hung up new curtains and made the rope tie backs to hold them open.

Some of our new baby clothes purchases. Can you tell we like sea things?

29 weeks

30 weeks. I don't think there is much more room for him to grow!

All in a day's work

Project baby stuff continues! Erik and I did some fun fabric shopping and found some really cute stuff. I made this car seat cover last week on my day off and I think it turned out really cute.

Erik wanted a manly touch to add to it so we made the bottom half camo to go with the forest animals. I love how it turned out.

Today's project was burp cloths. I made 8 of these so hopefully now we have plenty. I love these too what surprised me was how long they took! At least now I know they will survive the millions of wash loads I will undoubtedly put them through.

One of the best perks about working in a salon. Monday was a really slow day so I got to sit back for an hour and get a pedicure. It's nice to sit back in the middle of the day and get my feet rubbed! I have had some problems with my ankles swelling a bit so it felt really nice to put my feet up. This is just me and baby chilling in our pedi chair.

28 weeks down 12 to go! We are pretty excited. We went to a class at the hospital tonight and found a pediatrician we like so that's one more thing down to prepare for this little guy to show up!

Now I need a new project to work on!
